Tell No One Film Review

Ne le dis à personne, aka Tell No OneI had read a bit about Ne le dis à personne, aka Tell No One, before I had watched it, as I normally do, that made me go into the film with high expectations. A critical and box office hit in its native France, the highest praise came from Sir Michael Caine who said it was probably the best movie he had EVER seen, add that with the very high percentage it has on Rotten Tomatoes of 95% (As of time of writing this) and the fact most reviews I had read were very positive, you can understand why my expectations were high.

Normally when this happens I am left disappointed after watching it, and with Tell No One I was a little disappointed because as I said, I had read many VERY positive reviews and it certainly isn’t perfect, but I was half expecting that in truth, but I still enjoyed it a lot, but is it the best movie ever or even close to it? Nope. Is it a very solid film that keeps you guessing until the ending? Yep. Continue Reading »

School Of Rock 2

School Of Rock 2 has been confirmedSo following on my from previous post about future sequels it seems that a School Of Rock 2 script has been completed. Writer Mike White had this to say.

I actually just completed a draft of what’s potentially the sequel, and I’m still, like, crying as I’m writing the script,” said White. “I try to come at it from a personal place.

When asked for details, he replied: “I can’t tell you. I literally just turned it in. It’s a little too fresh off the boat for me to get into right now. And I don’t even know if it’s gonna be made.

As I mentioned on the post I linked from above I wasn’t keen on this, but while I don’t think this film needs a sequel I reckon it might be okay if it gets made, have some funny parts and just be an ok film. I will go in with low expecations which will probably help, but as long as I get a few laughs here and there it probably won’t be overly bad.

10 Good Film Remakes

Scarface - A great remakeMost remakes aren’t very good at all, I think that is fair to say, not to say that all remakes are bad, but when you consider the amount of bad ones that have been made and good ones that have been made then it’s fair to say that most aren’t very good. Nowadays Hollywood seems to be churning out remakes of either classic films or foreign films more than ever, and after reading today about another film I like that is being remade, it got me thinking, what are some remakes that I like? Not neccesarily ones that are BETTER than the original, but ones that are good (Or perhaps better), so I made a list of 10 remakes that I like, these are in no particular order. Continue Reading »

New Lost Boys film

Classic 80's film The Lost BoysNow I am not a fan of most sequels as a lot seem to be made just for the hell of it rather than the film actually needing a sequel, and most suck, not all but most, but I was reading yesterday about the new Lost Boys film, a follow up to the 80’s classic and this is a film I think will do okay. I love the Lost Boys film and have seen it quite a few times, although not for a while (Which reminds me, must update my VHS copy to DVD), but I am eager to see this follow up, as I said I think it will be okay, but anyway below the fold is 3 pictures from the film featuring Corey (Frog) Feldman, Tad Hilgenbrink, Angus Sutherland and Autumn Reeser. Another DVD buying spree

Classic film Animal House

So today I went to Ebay to buy a mp3 player, just a cheap old one to use while jogging, and while I was there I decided to buy a DVD, but as usual I have more spare change then is needed so I ended up spending quite a bit on DVD’s, now most of these I have already seen and some I am upgrading from video, and only a few are new ones so most of them were quite well priced, but still I probably shouldn’t of spent as much as I did. Click below to read what I bought, not that you care, but still. Continue Reading »

Who wants to see these sequels?

Donnie Darko Sequel?Browsing around I came across news of 3 sequels that may or may not be getting made, a Donnie Darko sequel, a School Of Rock sequel, and another Beverly Hills Cop movie, does anyone want to see these films? They seem to just be more cash in on the previous movie(s) fame rather than a sequel that is needed. But with Hollywood remaking loads of stuff and churning out more and more sequels, just how stale are things? Continue Reading »

Next Simon Pegg Project

Simon PeggSimon Pegg gave some information on his next project while at the Cannes Film festival

Sometimes I get good feelings about films without knowing much about the film itself, and this is one of those times.Even tho it will be a different writing partner then from his previous hits, with Pegg at the helm I have a feeling that this is gonna be pretty darn funny.

“I just finished a script with my writing partner Nick Frost, and that is called Paul, and we’re going to shoot it later this year or early next year. It’s a road movie set in America about two British comic book geeks that get into an adventure across America.”

Some Good Foreign Films

French film LA HaineI first started watching foreign films a few years back, well actually I had watched a few before that but that’s when I seriously got into it and started to take more of an interest in them (And by foreign films I mean subtitled). Anyway, since them I have always kept an eye out for what’s being released on the foreign scene and always write down stuff that seems interesting to me so I remember, sometimes it takes me a a while to get around to watching them, but in the end I usually do, even if I buy them and they just sit on my shelves for months, I always have something to watch and because I do that for most things I buy I don’t have the time to watch everything straight away, especially with other things going on in my life too, there is only so many hours in the day Continue Reading »

Just Release The DVD’s Already

Cheers, where everyone knows your name! One of the things I hate is when a company only releases some of the seasons of a particular television show only to wait ages and ages for the next season or they don’t release it at all, why don’t they just release them all within a decent time frame? Either release them all or release none at all. One program I am thinking off is Cheers, yesterday I pre ordered season 9, finally it’s being released, nearly TWO years after season 8 got released! They blamed low sales of the DVD’s, but when 8 have already been released you should just release the rest, especially when it’s only 3 more seasons and not leave people hanging like that. Anyway, apart from that little rant I will also post what else I bought and what I am looking forward to being released! Continue Reading »

Seems to be a just a way to just cash in a bit on the hype of the new movie. Continue Reading »

Film Review - 1408

1408I am always interested in seeing John Cusack films, and add the fact it’s a Stephen King story and I was definetly interested, even if quite a few of his book to movies haven’t been upto much, the premise was still interesting to me. Before I watched it I had seen many peoples opinions on it, and it seemed very 50/50, people either loved or hated it and their didn’t seem much in between. Continue Reading »
