Most remakes aren’t very good at all, I think that is fair to say, not to say that all remakes are bad, but when you consider the amount of bad ones that have been made and good ones that have been made then it’s fair to say that most aren’t very good. Nowadays Hollywood seems to be churning out remakes of either classic films or foreign films more than ever, and after reading today about another film I like that is being remade, it got me thinking, what are some remakes that I like? I first started watching foreign films a few years back, well actually I had watched a few before that but that’s when I seriously got into it and started to take more of an interest in them (And by foreign films I mean subtitled). I have liked Asian films ever since I saw Ringu (Or The Ring as it was called for the remake), I remember watching the American version and not thinking much of it, but people told me to check out the original and I did, and since then I have watched many Asian films.

There have been a few remakes of Asian films done by Hollywood, there is only one I can think of that I didn’t mind, not because I am some Asian film snob or anything, but the remakes are just rarely as good as the original or anywhere near as good full stop, the Asian versions are just better for a few reasons for me.
